We are struggling with the concept of Good vs Evil since a very long time and try to invent rules about how to be a good person, what acts are good or bad and many other philosophical or religious thinking about the topic but let's be simple: Being Good is respecting the freedom of others as long as they don't explicitly deny ours or someone else's. Being Evil is going agains the freedom of others while they didn't explicitly deny ours or someone else's.

When I was a child, live and let live is something we often were told. This seems to have disappeared.

German scientists were "Evil" because they denied the freedom of others, experimented on them, didn't get informed consent, dehumanized their fellow humans and convinced themselves through bad science that it was all ok because they were inferior. This Evil was collective and supported by a culture that made it possible. We are all capable of this kind of Evil when in an environment that promotes it and we all create the environment.

The place of change is in our heart. Caring for everyone should be a no brainer for a social species and freedom for the diverse expression of our common humanity could be easy to achieve without social engineers dividing and pitting people against each other.
