My key takeaway: Science needs synthesis by generalists after the specialists do the detailed work. We don't do it because healthcare is market driven.
I don't think that healthcare is market driven. Market driven means competition, with the stacking of government regulation, insurance companies and standard of care at the doctor level (+ doctors being more and more employees of clinics owned by the same people as the insurances, the pharmaceutical companies and the politicians passing the laws and regulations) it's anything but market driven.
The only part that is part of the market is us so we need to defund that grift.
